Periodontal Cleaning/Scaling & Root Planing – The most common form of Periodontal treatment combines Scaling and Root Planing. Scaling is the removal of calculus and tartar below the gum line while root planing is the smoothing of the root surface to keep plaque from sticking to it. Once treatment is completed, we advise you with an ongoing regimen of periodontal maintenance to prevent the advancement of Periodontal disease.
Root Canals – If a cavity reaches the nerve of the tooth and causes the patient pain, a root canal may be needed. Frequently, we perform one-visit root canals in our office, leaving the patient pain-free and back to normal.
TMJ – TMJ symptoms that include noisy joints, clicking, rubbing, ear pain, ear congestion, vertigo, headaches, joint pain, and head-neck pain are treated frequently at our office. Minor Oral Surgery – Dr. Sams may determine that you need a tooth extraction for any number of reasons. Some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed; others may have advanced periodontal disease or have broken in a way that cannot be repaired. Other teeth may need removal because they are poorly positioned in the mouth (such as impacted teeth), or in preparation for orthodontic treatment. As a convenience to our patients, we also offer evening and Saturday appointments for wisdom teeth extractions right here in our office.
